The Great Decline of Dell
Industry News
The Great Decline Of DELL.
Sales up 18%, Profit up 23% when every other so called manufacturer's sales
and profit have dropped. How is this possible? Buy cheaper product, hire cheaper
labor, advertise lower prices then you sell, and avoid service all together.
Below are the results of this new effort.

Our office purchased two new Dell computers 3 months ago. One crashed. Our
computer tech from our billing dept spent a total of about 5 hours on the
phone with Dell (on two separate days). I spent an additional 3 hours on the
phone with them, was transferred 6 times. We have the next-day service
warranty. The computer is broken, we need someone to come out and look at and
repair it. Dell refuses to come out to the office stating they only come out
to change parts.

It has been 7 months since I have had a functional laptop. I believe this far
exceeds the 2nd Day business repair warranty for my Inspiron. I will no longer
deal with Dell's customer service representative Linda K because she has made
it clear that my warranty issue carries no weight with the Dell Corporation.

Rebate Customer
I recently bought a Dell PC, with a rebate of $480. subject to me posting the
various bits of paperwork within 30 days of getting my PC. I sent it off to
Dell 3 days later - waited 8 weeks, chased Dell and now they are telling me I
am "not eligible for the rebate" and will be sending me a letter explaining
why!!! Never got the letter.
Many customers who have purchased systems from Dell in the last 8 months
have done so because of the aggressive pricing Dell has been offering through
rebates. However, as you may or may not have heard, there is a serious problem
surrounding Dell's rebate program. They are doing everything in their power to
avoid paying them.
